10 of my favourite Korean films

I didn’t wanna call this my top 10 as I really cannot pick a favourite, am also frustrated as quite a few were bubbling such as The Host, Oldboy,  Hello Murder & The Good The Bad The Weird  (This was my first experience of Korean cinema). I also came away from my usual Horrors by leaving out both Death Bell & Phone.

Anywho’s here are 10 of my fave watches (in no particular order)

1) The Chaser

2) Memories of Murder

3) Thirst

4) Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

5) My Sassy Girl

6) Kiss Me Kill Me

7) Brotherhood

8 ) Mother

9) No Mercy

10) I Saw The Devil

Phew that was hard, let me know if you agree and please feel free to comment

  1. That’s a really strong list – I’ve not seen ‘No Mercy’ yet but I’d agree that every one of those are great films. ‘Memories of Murder’ is my current favourite Korean film of all time.
I didn’t like ‘I Saw The Devil’ quite so much and would favour Kim Jee-woon’s ‘A Bittersweet Life’, plus I preferred ‘Sympathy For Mr Vengeance’ to ‘Lady Vengeance’ but all are good.
Good call on ‘My Sassy Girl’ and ‘Brotherhood’ – amazing films that I can watch over and over… Hmm, its tough to pick out ten – I’d have to add a few but wouldn’t know which ones to take out..
